Best chicken fried steak in all of Texas! You can't beat the lunch special either for $9.99 that comes with 2 sides (choice of brown or white gravy)! Old school diner in the heart of Howe,Texas, you can't miss it! You seat yourself upon entering and the staff will greet you momentarily. Old school vibes as these are the original building from back in the day!
Stopped here on our way to Galveston, was the lunch rush so they were a little busy. The food was really good, the workers could have been a little friendlier. Also, don't sit by the door if it's cold out, there is no breeze way so every time someone opens the door, lots of cold air comes in.
Home cooked food is on point! Chicken fried steak is tender and perfect. Green beans and mashed potatoes are a must. Gets busy for lunch so come early!

Second time eating lunch here. They have a nice selection of lunch specials for $9.99. My son and i had the Chicken fried steak and the pork chop. The sides were pretty standard, the potatoes are real (not instant). The pork chop was fried perfectly with just a crust of breading. Service is fairly quick considering its a small town cafe with a small staff and this place was packed when we walked in. Highly recommend stopping in.
